The Interstates Companies is pleased to announce that Randy Van Voorst, vice president of project delivery at Interstates Construction, has been nominated and appointed to Iowa’s newly-formed Electrical Examining Board.

Van Voorst was one of eleven people appointed and commissioned by Governor Culver to hold a three year term on the board. He will serve as a representative for licensed journeyman electricians in northwest Iowa.

The Electrical Examining Board was created as a result of legislation establishing a statewide licensing program for electricians and electrical contractors which goes into effect on January 1, 2008. The board operates under Iowa’s Department of Public Safety.

Van Voorst is licensed in several states as a journeyman electrician and has been with the Interstates Companies since 1971.
