Interstates Companies Wins ABC of Iowa Awards
February, 2008
Interstates Companies recently received three prestigious construction awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Iowa during the association’s annual “Excellence in Construction” banquet.

“Each year, this competition raises the bar for merit shop contractors. This year’s award winning projects represent what merit shop contractors have to offer—projects of the highest quality, built safely, on-time, and within budget,” said ABC of Iowa President and CEO Greg Spenner.

Interstates won the 2007 Project of the Year award in the Electrical, Commercial, and Industrial Over $2 Million category.

The award was presented based on Interstates’ work on the Heartland Corn Products ethanol plant in Winthrop, MN. This prestigious honor for excellence in construction was awarded to Interstates for earning the most points in the evaluations.

The Heartland project also won an Award of Excellence and recognition as the Outstanding Electrical Construction project for 2007. Criteria for these honors included complexity of the project, attractiveness, unusual challenges, innovation, safety, and budget compliance. This was Interstates’ 17th award from ABC of Iowa.
