Interstates Companies received two prestigious construction awards from Associated Builders and Contractors of Iowa during the association’s annual Excellence in Construction banquet held in West Des Moines.

Interstates Companies’ work on the BMW Automotive Facility in Geer, South Carolina, was recognized as ABC of Iowa’s 2009 Outstanding Electrical Construction Project. Interstates also received the Award of Excellence in the Electrical – Commercial & Industrial Over $2 Million Category for this same project. Award criteria included project complexity, attractiveness, unusual challenges, innovation, safety, and budget compliance.
Associated Builders and Contractors of Iowa is a non-profit construction trade association that represents over 400 member firms throughout the state. “Each year, this competition raises the bar for merit shop contractors. This year’s award winning projects represent what merit shop contractors have to offer – projects of the highest quality, built safely, on-time, and within budget,” said ABC of Iowa President and CEO Greg Spenner.
